On the left side there are two narrowband images of the Sun made
within two hours. The upper is the H-alpha line (656.3nm), the
lower is the Calcium line (at 393.4nm).
Coronado
is offering narrowband filters and -telescopes for amateurs. The
newest one is the 'SolarMax 70 CaK Telescope' (70mm, f=400mm) for
observing the Sun in the light of ionized Calcium.
I made a third, new image (the big Sun at the right) by
calculating the difference of both pictures. The result is a
totally new view showing H-alpha details as well as CaK details in
the chromosphere. It looks 3 dimensional. I hope you like that one
as much as I do. |
